Samantha & Graham: Vaughan Estate Wedding, Estates of Sunnybrook

Samantha and Graham are one of those very lucky couples who get to have two weddings. A cozy and romantic winter affair at the elegant Vaughan Estates, followed by a Whistler honeymoon (the place where they first met) and then flying off to their second wedding (this time a summer one!) in Australia where they live. I was thrilled to document their Canadian wedding, my first wedding of 2011. I couldn’t ask for a better start to the year…Samantha and Graham are a beautiful couple who are obviously very, very loved. Occasionally at weddings, I am asked to stay for most of the reception – and it is always fun to see everyone break free and really enjoy themselves. I had a blast capturing the happy couple as they and their family and friends danced the night away. And their brave bridal party snuck away for photos outside in the falling snow. It truly was a spectacular night. Congratulations Samantha and Graham!

Happy New Year!

I love the end of a year and the fresh start of a new one. Although my wedding season generally ends in November, there is so much to do in December and January – for me this is a season of organizing, archiving, portfolio selecting, and most importantly a time to reflect on the past year and plan for the upcoming one. Although I have been doing wedding photography for almost 6 years now, I still look for opportunities to change and grow. Whether it be the style and method of image processing, the products and services I offer to clients, even the way I decide to brand my business. Change can be good. And it’s exciting!

So I finally added an Engagement Session gallery to the website and I’m really happy with it. I love how relaxed, fun and colourful the gallery is. It was really neat to go through old sessions and see how my work has changed a bit over time, with new ideas and new challenges.

I’ve also added some more photos to the wedding galleries and even created a brand new, fourth gallery on the site. Go check it out! : )

Finally, I thought it would be fun to share with you my favourite wedding photos of the year. Since it was 2010, we’ll do a top 10!  It was a bit difficult to narrow it down, but here they are!

A big THANK YOU! to all my 2010 clients for making this year so wonderful and memorable. I feel honoured to have been a part of one of the most important days of your life.

Wishing you a blessed new year and a lifetime of love and laughter,

-Lisa
